Dynamism of the Love Triangle

Love stories and the end prize enable people to glamorize relationships, and in extenuation, how they feel about romantic relationships. Our inner hearts wish for true love to exist, and our minds know that compromise must happen, for nothing ever occurs perfectly. We especially gain nothing easily. A struggle is always involved. The best things in life, love being one of those, must be battled for. With relationships comes vulnerability; empathy intensifies our desire to see starry-eyed lovers rise above conflict to achieve harmonious love that our inner hearts wish to see a reality cut out for. However, some conflicts in love have no universally destined conclusion, true love none attainable. In a love triangle, we can see true love manifest for one of the competitors and not for the other. Romantic edginess moves readers through Mazarine Dreamer, able to relate to the struggle to attain and keep love, competition abound. We idealize the love triangle conflict because it reflects the dynamism of love.

Mainly, that winners and losers emerge, and readers always thrive on competition. It drives us in daily actions and leads people to survive. Romantic conflict keeps us on the edge of our seats with the suspense that makes the ending unpredictable. The winner of the prize, true love, we want to know about. Struggles we watch, full of wonder and excitement, wonder and fear, and in those emotional variances we grow addicted to watching them. We idealize the win, and we feel great seeing the victories in love. Competition leads to a prize. Romantic readers partake in the experience just reading about it, able to easily relate on multiple levels.

Dynamism in a love triangle intrigues, since it gives us an opportunity to be both idealistic and realistic simultaneously. Every component that we desire to believe in remains just as probable to occur as all the components that we read with certainty will happen. It remains a predictability that one side of the love triangle will collapse, thus providing a chance to see that the “love” that creates the other limb, the love that we long to idealize and believe in, will ultimately triumph. Definition refers to it as idealized love that we as romantic minded readers prefer pure and unadulterated; the love triangle provides us a story stuffed full with intrigue whilst maintaining purity in idealized love by proving that it results in only one couple in the end.

We all want to be winners in a love triangle. The stakes are high. Seeing them in a fictional setting become winners keeps us interested in the story. Call it an adventure where the fruits of victory are weighty and worth the endurance of any struggle that arrives along the way. It puts more passion in our frolics, kisses, and rendezvous, and remains as timelessly valued as the existence of mankind itself. Losing does not come naturally and neither does fading interest in a read where victory must inevitably be obtained. Likes and dislikes for one character can make reading along to find the winner adventurous in and of itself. If characters can engage in triangular love, struggle, and come out with a prize relationship at the end then so can real people. Readers know this and enjoy it.

Basically, the love triangle collapses as predicted; hence it gives precedence to one emerging couple. All works well that ends well for them. Our worldviews gain validation and true love dominates.

1. Love triangles reflect the dynamisms of love.

2. Love writes a compelling story, especially with stakes and fights.

3. We all want our lives to be more interesting, so to compensate for dullness we watch fictional accounts of what could happen to someone.

4. People thrive on competition. Curiosity leads us to find out who will win. Empathizing with the winners makes us feel like them, grand and full of confidence.

5. We all love conflict. That is what makes storytelling interesting most of the time.

6. Love triangles are forbidden, and people want what they can not have but stay too stifled to state it.

7. Rubbernecking at car wrecks and over love triangles is exactly the same thing. We can not take out eyes off the shock of it all.

8. We all want to be fought over secretly.

9. Love triangles end in a desirable relationship.

Sometimes, our own lives and relationships can show nothing but dullness. Fiction gives us a great niche to find a place for fulfilling those otherwise boding desires. The element of suspense intensifies when the romantic relationship expands between three people?  Drama increased by a thousandfold, plus an inevitable tragedy, computes that a win-win situation can not result from the complications of a love triangle. That only makes the story that much more dramaturgic; it ultimately excites more readers and keeps them turning those pages, even hoping to learn more about the two starry-eyed lovers who marry out of the triangle. Readers concede and know that at least one character must gain love, and they are going find themselves angered, but humanly so, and they love this feeling of involvement that suspense keeps building up. Many various dramas, all curiosity revving, evolve out of love triangles, especially with the loser desperate to gain the affection of the lover slipping out of grasp.

Conflict we all love. More often than not, if the a love seeker can not have the romantic lead then no other aspirer can. Possibly, one might plot the demise of a rival, frame him, enslave him, exile him, etcetera, or more extremely, the very lover may become such a target for elimination. Anything can happen in a love triangle. That drama all revolves around the level of anger or jealousy penned up inside the losing party. Sometimes instead of that sort of drama it is the actual character iconized, fought over by two others, who  takes action on her own, and she may run away, send off the less desirable man, or even end her own life to avert having to make the painful decision for herself regarding who to love and who to dispose of. This is all drama and very suspenseful. It makes for great story telling and keeps the readers involved, their feelings pulled out and made to empathize with the main characters entangled in the love triangle.

Remember also that love triangles are forbidden. Human beings always crave what they can not have. Participants in forbidden love and viewers peeping in can not put an end to their fascination that keeps them coming in for more and more. Readers keep on rubbernecking at the sight of forbidden love happening right there, watching who it happens to, how it happens, and where it leads the participants to. They engage in the affair, taking a liking to some characters and a disliking to others, all the while hoping their favorite couple will make it through to the end. We get caught up in the shock of it all. Perhaps the secret that we all want to be fought over contributes to our fascination with forbidden love. Seeing one take action to keep a lover in grasp and stop another from taking it all away makes reading about a love triangle all too real and relatable. Readers can experience those feelings in varying degrees.

Realize that since these love entanglements occur between people in a fictional setting that the intrigue levels remain high for readers. No matter what happens, all registers as enjoyable and useful material for drama and suspense, so long as one is not personally involved. Obviously, personal involvement in love quarrels increases readers’ curiosity and turns the drama into agony and the tragedy into real life pain, which none ever desire. Fictionalizing it gives us a way to imagine it, cope with it in real life as it occurs, and to explore it in many variations. Romantic dramas arise and evolve through the day, week, months, and years, and interest in it stays always high. The love triangle gives us a place to play with the emotions and idea there, the stakes high and winning the prize so exhilarating that we can not get enough of the conflict, the love triangle problems.

The rhyming novel, Mazarine Dreamer, showcases a love triangle that expands between the present time and the Renaissance past, adding layers of complexity to what otherwise would be but a one-dimensional love triangle. Flavia Mavaret must uncover the romantic secrets of her past and create new romantic relations in the present, living them both as she travels back and forth through time, full of both bliss, sorrow, gratitude, regret, and also that critical indecisivity that makes love a triangle to begin with. What makes it complex with interactions between three beings rather than a linear relation share with merely two people. As with any love triangle, even one that spans two lifetimes must come to an inevitable end. Romantic wins happen, falls too, but all apart of the dynamics of love shared and competed for between three people. Predictable, a winner must emerge, a permanent couple forms, and paradisiacal dream becomes their ever after life. The struggles to obtain that final status in paradise only makes the victory that much sweeter. The novel written in rhyme showcases the extremes, highs and lows, that a love triangle takes it main participants through just as readers desire. For Flavia, the stakes are high, she must choose the right suitor to amend the past and live a happily ever after.

"Hoot! A dinner horn blew. Out came the castle’s masses,
old ladies and men plus unruly, orphaned lasses,
Beneath their chairs laid fresh hay and green herbs
Plant aromatics mixed with all the steam turbs
from juicy meat pies, breads, baked beans, and pumpkins,
all prepared in the kitchen by good bumpkins.
A flock of pigeons in the rafters enjoyed us all
who burbled up talkatively in the great hall.
Evening arrived. Crimson, fiery sun led
me down a glowing red path. The magicians’ homestead
I sought. Susurrus tickled my ears. Cornfield swayed,
alive with birds and insects; its soft pollens sprayed
alongside sweet grassy scents. Burning red building
rectangular and aged, gained growing size, bidding
in the distance. But getting there brought struggle,
my cumbersome dress catching on stalks in a bungle.
All respected the Evegane family,
So much that they bustled most gamily
to salute members when recognized on the streets
of villages and towns outside their own  retreats,
no horse drawn carriage able to seal off their
identity, for they traveled on wheels everywhere.
Mustard paint made their vessel unmistakable,
A fangy gray wolf was its heraldic symbol.
